Welcome to the USS Tethys

Welcome to the USS Tethys. My name is Commander Ka'el Fermat, supervising engineer for the refit of this vessel. She's a fine ship, to be sure. No doubt you've heard of her exploits throughout Federation space or of her involvement in some of the more recent encounters with the Elyshan Empire. We all know that stories can get exaggerated in the telling, but the truth is sometimes even more unbelievable than the legend.

Two years ago, the USS Tethys was launched from Utopia Planetia Fleet Yards under the command of then-Commander Iluvar. Little did anyone know at that time what history would have in store for this ship or her crew. In two years, she went from being the newest vessel on the block to the forerunner in Starfleet's operations involving the Elyshans. She served as Rear Admiral Iluvar's flagship for nearly a year after he assumed command of Horizon Fleet's Task Force 22. In only two years, she has served with distinction and honor.

Now it's time for her to undergo her first refit and, let me tell you, we're giving her the prime treatment. It may be awhile, but after all the Tethys has been through, we want to make sure that we don't miss a thing.

Feel free to look around and learn about the tales and adventures of the Tethys and her former crew. If you are looking for what has become of those who served aboard this fine ship, I encourage you to head over to the USS Pandora and find out.

Respectfully,

Commander Ka'el Fermat
Refit Supervisor

Farewell Address to the Crew of USS Tethys

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Two years ago, I assumed command of this vessel at Utopia Planetia Fleet Yards just prior to her initial launch. The Tethys was a new ship with a new commanding officer and a new crew. We were eager to set out and make our mark on the Federation as well as the pages of history.

Here I stand, two years later, looking around at the people and experiences that we have had along our journey. Some of you have been with me since the day I assumed command; others have only recently joined this crew. In the past two years, we have explored new worlds, pushing the boundaries of our knowledge and understanding. We have faced the threat of rogue Romulans and Elyshan warships. Along the way, there were those who were lost...and they will be missed.

But this does not mark the end of the journey, my friends, merely a new part of that journey. By order of Admiral Meyer (NPC), Deputy Chief of Staff, Horizon Fleet, I am hereby requested and required to assume command of the Luna-class USS Pandora. The Tethys will one day become the care of another crew, but I know that we will look back on the time that we all served aboard her together and remember the opportunities, the friendships, and the adventure that she gave to each of us.

To the future...
