Personality & Traits
General Overview
A skilled pilot, Logan has been noticed by his instructors at the Academy as well as his commander on the Farragut for exceptional service. On more than one occasion, his skills have helped to speed up a mission and even save the ship.
Strengths & Weaknesses
While Logan is a by the book officer who is rarely caught bending the rules, he has a difficult time sticking to it when the lives of his friends or fellow crewmates are on the line. This led to a serious reprimand and his dismissal from the Farragut. However, due to his prior service, Captain Langley advocated his transferral to another vessel. Coupled with a personal request by Commander Iluvar, Logan landed his position on the Tethys.
Ambitions
A innate pilot, Logan takes a thrill from difficult maneuvers and combat piloting. He is proud to be serving as the helmsman of a starship and sees little more in his future at this time, though he thinks that he might want to take a stab at command some day.
Hobbies & Interests
Logan is one for historical "research". He likes to spend his free time on such activities as ham radio, photography, flying planes, racing cars, and working on cars, which makes him a self-proclaimed expert on late 20th/ early 21st century Earth.

History
Logan has had a tough life since his own birth, but every time, he has proven himself a true fighter. To start off with, he was born 3 months premature, and the doctors expected him to have muscle weakness. Within his first few years, he proved the doctors wrong and by grade school, he was considered to be one of the best athletes of the class.

When he was only five years old, his father took him to see the Early Aviation Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the site of the former EAA. During that visit, the desire to fly was instilled in young Logan's heart and he began to tinker with various model aircraft. When he reached the age of twelve, he learned how to fly small aircraft known as Cessnas. Upon his entrance into Starfleet Academy, his father purchased Logan his own aircraft, which he simply loved, even though transporters and shuttlecraft were more efficient and less pollutant.

During his time at the Academy, Logan was recognized for his accomplishments during several piloting simulations. After he single-handedly averted a disaster during a formation training flight at the Academy Range, he received a comendation for his efforts and he went on to take his first assignment as pilot of a lunar shuttle while he finished up his Academy training. Ironically, Logan was part of the "Voyager Class", which was accepted the day that Voyager returned from the Delta Quadrant.

Graduation resulted in Logan's assignment to the Farragut under Captain Langley as the ship's conn officer. He was forced to hit the ground running, as the Farragut was dispatched to rescue a science vessel caught in a field of stellar debris. Thanks to Logan's quick skill, the Farragut was able to reach the vessel and successfully rescue the team aboard. Barely six months into his service, he hit a major roadblock when he was faced with a major decision. The Farragut was attempting to determine what had happened to a cargo ship that had been disabled in the Azure Nebula. One of Logan's closest friends, Ensign Allan Walker, was part of the away team. The Farragut discovered that the cargo ship had struck a gravimetric mine, causing the engines to begin leaking deadly radiation. When they attempted to beam the away team back to the ship, the transporter was unable to maintain a lock on Ensign Walker and it was believed that he was lost during transport.

Logan refused to accept this and stole a shuttle to attempt to rescue his friend from the rapidly disintigrating vessel. Against a direct order from his captain, Logan boarded the vessel and refused to return until he had located Walker. He managed to find his friend, but by the time he returned him to the Farragut, Walker had died of radiation poisoning. Because of his refusal to obey a direct order and the jepordy that he had put himself in, Command decided that he should be discharged from active duty. While Captain Langley was furious with him, she felt that he did not deserve to be cast out. Instead, she recommended that he be transferred to another vessel. It seemed, for a time, that he was going to end up as a garbage scow pilot. Then, just as he had lost his hope of being a starship pilot, Commander Iluvar of the USS Tethys specifically requested him to be the new conn officer. For the moment, it seemed, his career had been saved.
