USS Tethys Tour

Multi-Vector Assault Mode
Multi-vector assault mode was a feature developed by Starfleet for its new Prometheus-class starship in the 2370s. By using advanced compartmentalization and automation systems, a ship capable of multi-vector assault mode could split itself into three separate warp-capable crafts, becoming an entire squadron operating semi-independently and in concert, effectively tripling the amount of firepower that could be applied against a target.

Main Bridge
The main center of ship operations, the bridge serves as the point from which the commanding officer manages the operation of the vessel along with the other bridge officers. At the request of Commander Iluvar, the traditional Prometheus-based Tethys bridge module was replaced with a spare Sovereign-based design. This is due to the fact that Iluvar felt uncomfortable sitting above his fellow officers while in the center chair.

Ready Room
The ready room is a private office reserved for the commanding officer's use. Here, the commanding officer can engage in administrative work with all relevant office equipment at hand without interfering with bridge operations. In addition, this room is usually the preferred place where the captain can hold private discussions and/or receive classified communications.

Observation Lounge
The room is used as a meeting place for the ship's senior staff as well as special events and gatherings. Some go to the observation lounge simply for the view.

CS/TO Office
Here, the CS/TO can engage in work with all relevant office equipment at hand without interfering with bridge operations. In addition, this room is usually the preferred place where the CS/TO can hold private discussions.

Transporter Room
A transporter room is part of an starship or space station which is specially outfitted to transport lifeforms and small inanimate objects.

Mess Hall
A mess hall is a place on Federation starships or starbases where one can relax and enjoy a meal or a quick snack in a social setting. It is also the place where officials, such as ambassadors of other worlds are entertained. Gatherings are also held here.

Senior Officer Quarters
Officers' quarters: Many starships feature separate quarters for higher-ranked officers. Usually, these staterooms are composed of two or more areas, featuring separate bed- and bathrooms and a dedicated work- and living area.

Main Sickbay
Sickbay was the main medical center aboard Federation starships. Sickbay was presided over by the chief medical officer (CMO), a senior staff member. The CMO was supported by various doctors and nurses. The area was also used for certain analyses of new lifeforms a starship might encounter, and for developing treatments for unknown diseases or illnesses. When rendering aid to a stricken planet or spacecraft, the sickbay staff treated and cared for the wounded.

Morgue
A morgue was a facility or specific area used to store the bodily remains of the recently deceased for purposes of identification of the body, autopsy, and other postmortem activities.

On many starships, sickbay or another medical facility contains storage areas that use stasis fields to preserve the dead until autopsy, transport, or burial.

Aux Sickbay
Supplements main sickbay and serves as the main treatement center for the individual section when the ship is seperated.

Main Brig
A brig is a type of prison on board a starship. These are heavily-guarded rooms that employ either gates or force fields to keep those incarcerated segregated from the general population of the vessel. These areas are used to contain criminals, fugitives, and others who pose a security risk and must be detained. They are also used as a means of punishment within the Starfleet ranks.

Science Labs
A science laboratory (for short, lab or science lab) is any area set-up for work in experimental or observational science. Areas like these are commonplace aboard explorational vessels such as Federation starships.

Stellar Cartography/Astrometrics Lab
Astrometrics was a specialized lab used aboard Federation starships for stellar cartographic purposes. Astrometrics was used for charting stars, planets, nebulae, and other stellar bodies. It contained a large wraparound wall screen which could display a stellar region three dimensionally. There were a series of control panels to manipulate the screen. The area below the screen and in front of the control panels could be used as a stage during presentations. Astrometrics also included three workstations on the side wall.

Main Engineering
Engineering's primary purpose is to be the central point for control of all engineering systems aboard a starship, especially those related to propulsion and power generation. The matter/antimatter reaction chamber (also known as the warp core) is located in Engineering. Engineering can also be used as a command and control center, overriding primary centers such as the Bridge or Auxiliary control.
